In Vietnam, leprosy is still prevalent today. For the children of lepers, the future is very gloomy; often placed in the hands of family members, with limited access to education.
Dat Viet is an organisation supporting children who have a parent with leprosy or other handicap such as blindness, funding their education and monitoring their progress each year.
In 2014 Leon Association sponsored 236 students selected by Dat Viet (all of which have at least one parent who is disabled or had leprosy) for one school year.
Thankfully this has continued in 2015.
And again in 2016.
2017 will be no exception.
